Alex provides DMT for adults, teens and children or families. Private practice can be provided in Darwin, Palmerston or a nature-assisted option in Humpty Doo NT.
In a private session we work together towards therapeutic goals established between therapist and client/ family.
The sessions are tailored to suit individual needs and generally include:
· Arrival and warmup time
· Somatic practices supporting body awareness
· Exploration of a theme through mixed creative arts practices including dance, drawing and writing, supported by music and props such as scarves, balls and other sensory objects.
· Harvesting, integration and reflection and setting goals for stepping back out into the world; this may include counselling and psychoeducation.
NDIS participants may be able to access my work under the Therapy Supports: capacity building: improved daily living: section.
Other private sessions will be billed on a means-based scale between $80 – 160 per hour.
I also offer supervision for Dance Movement Therapists in training.

Adventures in Movement: Somatic Movement practices
In this class we explore the body in ever deepening levels of connection and awareness. Alex weaves her study of Body Mind Centering with the core principles of Dance Therapy and Yoga, to facilitate exploration of core body systems and movement patterns. Through study of anatomy, visualization, touch and movement we sense inward, deepening our self-awareness; and becoming more embodied and somatically supported.
We use dance and other creative approaches to deepen and integrate our explorations.
Each session includes time dedicated to exploring our inner landscape, improvised movement as well as rest and reflection.
Adventures in Movement: Dance Therapy and Improvised movement
With a long background and training in improvised movement including Contact improvisation, Alex offers a range of opportunities to dance and move, extending your range and capacity to explore, express, play or perform in a group setting.
Alex can also provide family friendly workshops and classes.
Embodied practices for the workplace
Alex offers short movement practices designed to increase our own somatic awareness and capacity for attuning and working through the body with others; this is also the foundation for trauma informed practice. Alex can offer weekly sessions supporting staff well-being; as well as professional development workshops and training focusing on somatic practices, poly-vagal theory or trauma informed practice.
Please reach out if you are interested in either training, a workshop or regular wellbeing session for your workplace.
Supported by the Seasons
Alex offers a seasonal workshop at Sunshower Library in the Solar village; these follow and track the changing seasons around us.
Listening, observing and sensing what is happening in nature and finding resonance and support in our inner landscape.
Each session explores an element of Body-Mind-centring/ somatic practice as well as provides time for contemplation, exploration and journalling in nature.
Creative process and movement assisted and supported by nature.

She can offer tailored workshops, resources or training to suit your needs; Alex’s work focuses on the somatic, and combines psychoeducation with experiential exercises which support all participants to develop an intuitive understanding of self-regulation and co-regulation in a range of settings. Workshops can include a focus on self-care and vicarious trauma.
Alex can also support a process of workplace auditing and action planning for organisations willing to move towards a more integrated trauma-informed approach. Rather than starting from scratch Alex works with those already trained and passionate about TIC within workplaces and builds on existing training and expertise within the org.
